Chapter One: The Near-Death Experience
Writhing in the mud, the torrents of rain fell on him like drops of burning acid, as his mind became hypersensitive to everything. Soft words screamed in his ears, and the light breeze threatened to throw him completely off balance. He screamed in pain, the sound causing his ears to ring incessantly. The mud he had been thrown into was now sludge that almost threatened to draw him into the Earth and bury him.
